My sculptural forms as with my paintings are centered around the essence of form: the weightlessness of weight, the center, the core; an inhale as opposed to an exhale. To bring the weight up, to feel it´s lightness; to balance what appears unable to balance. This is what I aim to transcend in my bird forms and my dancers. Then I begin to look inside the form and want to show it´s structural form, what holds it together, how it is built, how it resists gravity. How are we built, what do we have inside our human bodies and what do we show outside. How does one reflect the other or hide the other, or attempt to hide, to mask. Art reflects life and life reflects art.
