My clay work in this series starts off with sculptural fish forms adorning utilitarian objects such as a plate, a vase, or a bowl. From here I began to extend the forms off the surface and into space, once again playing with gravity. As my thoughts of reproducing the pieces developed, my design had to adapt to a mold. The relief became more rounded and volumetric. The bowls, platters, vases, sugar bowl and creamer are the beginning pieces of my production line. The banana shape represents horns of the bull, the fish platters are a cross-over from my earlier pieces. I do like the idea of offering a full plate.
